Don't let the colour (or arguably the price) put you off this cold and flu remedy. When I was a teenager still living at home with my parents, they swore by this product for curing all bouts of flu and colds, etc.
Nowadays, I always use it if I'm feeling low from cold or flu. The main beauty about this product is that it completely knocks you out - take a dose about 5 minutes before you go to bed and I can guarantee that whatever your symptoms, you will sleep soundly all night.
OK, so you might still have the flu, but it works for me!
The secret is in the alcohol content. Actually, marketing this product as a medicine is a bit of a lie, I reckon, as it's mainly alcohol! That's what knocks you out.
Beechams also make a similar product, strangely enough called "Day Nurse!" (I wonder how they thought of that?) This is usually taken in capsule form, I usually take two in the morning and 2 in the mid-afternoon if I have the flu, and these usually do the trick. They can make people a bit drowsy, so I wouldn't reccommend operating a high-speed buzz-saw whilst under the influence of these, nor driving a Formula 1 racing car, but in a normal job, they'll do fine.
